Here is how we work together in ten simple steps

Step 1 - Send me a description of any new project.

This can be anything from just a few words about what your client needs to a large corporate spec. I will help you with the questions and details to move it forward.

Step 2 - I will reply to you on the same day with a ballpark estimate (well sometimes it gets done the next day).

Mark up my estimate! I will be happy to tell you how much other designers typically mark up my fees if you wish. I will also include a few questions that you can ask your client that will help us narrow down the range of the estimate.

Step 3 - If you and your client like the estimate in principle,

ask your client the questions (they will often have questions of their own) and let me know what they say.

Step 4 - I will revise the estimate the same day,

with a more accurate quote (and possibly more questions).

Step 5 - My quote will quickly become a site-map showing the functionality on every page.

It will not show how the pages will look, that will be your job of course. It will simply indicate what can be done (and by whom) on each page.

Step 6 - If you decide to work with me,

then when you are ready, send me the graphic art and any page template(s) that you wish for me to use. I generally require a 10% deposit at this point if this is our first project together.

Step 7 - I will build the entire website under your supervision,

on one of our servers so that you can see it quickly grow,
using your artwork - and following your design template(s). The website will look exactly as you wish and it will meet the spec exactly.

Step 8 - Watch it grow quickly,

and show it to your client when you feel that it is far enough along to suit you.

Step 9 - When it is finished and you and your client are happy with it,

I will transfer it to your server or theirs (or you can leave it on mine if you prefer).

Step 10 - Done!
